About Steven Lakey

Steven qualified as an Architectural Technologist at the Plymouth College of Further Education followed by two years at the Plymouth College of Art and Design where he obtained a diploma in Photographic Studies, and finally achieved a London City & Guilds Certificate in Interior Design through the Regent Academy in London. In between studies Steven worked for a local contractor for two years gaining valuable on-site knowledge and experience.

In 1985, Steven joined The Architects Design Group where he became a Senior Technical Designer involved in various project sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Commercial and Residential. Steven remained with ADG until December 2015 when he decided to set up his own company, ‘Steven Lakey Building Design Limited’. Housing being Steven’s main interest, his primary focus is on projects of a domestic scale such as, new build, refurbishment, conversions, extensions and interior design. Although other types of projects are included such as commercial and education.

Steven also freelances for local architectural practices which is beneficial for staying in contact with other professionals and for sharing construction methods or design ideas.
